Pittacum 2011 is an exclusive red wine from "El Bierzo", a beautiful place in the north of Spain. Very well balanced, complex but soft and elegant.
Sommelier recommendation: Red meat, especially lamb chops or roasted rabbit, cheese and charcuterie.
Producer´s Tasting note: Ruby red in colour, this wine is reminiscent of plums and violets on the nose. Fresh raspberry and cherry fruit flavours with a hint of chocolate fill the mouth. Finishes with a hint of sweet vanilla and toffee.

Luis Gutierrez Tasting Note (The wine advocate): "Pittacum is the bread and butter wine of the winery with 180,000 bottles per year. The Mencía grapes are fermented in stainless steel and aged for eight months in French and American oak barrels, and a further two years in bottle. By the time it hits the shelves, it should be ready to drink. The aromas of wild berries are intermixed with some white coffee and toffee. The palate brings some spicy notes, with vegetable coal, dark berries and a mineral hint."
