Piedra Platino Selección 2009, red wine from Estancia Piedra wineries and Designation of Origin Toro. Intense and aromatic, full of aromas coming from Tinta de Toro grape. Very intense and elegant. 18 Month in French oak barrels and more than 25 in bottle. 

Sommilier recommendation: Perfect wine for red meats, Iberian cured ham and strong cheese’s.

Neal Martin´s Tasting Note for 2005 harvest (The Wine Advocate): The 2005 Piedra Seleccion is aged for 18 months in mainly French oak. It is rather subdued on the nose at first, but begins to unfurls in the glass, offering mulberry, sloe and undergrowth aromas. The palate is full-bodied with ripe tannins. There is a pleasant fatness to this wine, with plenty of balsamic-tinged red fruit and an agreeable, slightly rustic, spicy finish that falls away just a bit abruptly.
